Overview SCHEELS is currently seeking a full-time dynamic and strategic Public Relations & Events Manager to join our Fargo, ND Corporate Office. This role is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and evaluation of corporate events, store-level event programming, and public relations initiatives that strengthen our brand and reinforce our commitment to the communities we serve. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader who thrives on creating remarkable experiences, fostering community and media connections, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities - Strategic Event Leadership:
- Lead the development, planning, and execution of major internal corporate events, including associate recognition programs, leadership trainings, and company-wide celebrations.
- Drive event strategy for new market launches—overseeing grand openings, hiring events, and innovative community activations that build excitement and engagement.
- Prepare comprehensive recaps and performance reports for company leadership, recommending enhancements to continually improve outcomes.
- Foster SCHEELS’ employee-owned culture by creating events and experiences that inspire pride, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Public Relations:
- Lead SCHEELS public relations strategy to strengthen brand reputation and media presence across all markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners, community leaders, and vendors to enhance brand visibility.
- Cultivate excitement around new markets by proactively engaging media and community stakeholders.
- Local Store Marketing Support:
- Provide coaching, resources, and innovative ideas to store teams that align with SCHEELS overall PR and events vision.
- Develop clear guidelines and best practices for local marketing campaigns, community events, and PR opportunities.
- Implement consistent communication and feedback systems—including surveys and event recaps—to measure impact and identify growth opportunities.
- Review and analyze store-level event reports, offering constructive feedback to enhance effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement.
- Creative & Visionary: Ability to develop innovative public relations and event strategies that elevate SCHEELS brand.
- Self-Motivated & Organized: Strong time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver projects with precision.

Education & Experience - Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred; and at least 3-4 years of experience in a related field.
Schedule And Travel - Must be flexible to work between 7am–6pm, Monday through Friday, with evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to travel up to 20–30 days per year.
