Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Are you excited about partnering with the Intelligence Community (IC) and National Security industry to drive high-visibility and strategic programs and lead operational processes that enable business growth? Are you equally comfortable working with engineering and development teams to meet business requirements? If so, the AWS Federal Delivery Organization (FDO) Program Management Office (PMO) is looking for a Program Execution Manager (PEM) with a proven record of delivering results.

The AWS World Wide Public Sector (WWPS) team is looking for an exceptional Program Execution Manager to support our growing National Security business within our FDO. FDO is responsible for program management activities across a portfolio of Federal programs. Activities include managing multiple concurrent region expansion projects, task orders, maintaining the program’s schedule, risk mitigation strategies, working with partners across the industry, and facility programmatic administrative functions. FDO ensures contractual delivery and enables the growth of the business by managing the growing prime contracts for AWS to provide cloud services to government customers.

The role requires familiarity and experience implementing project management practices and frameworks. The role requires navigating an ambiguous environment to drive clarity of ownership and action. The role requires relentlessly high standards and an expert attention to detail. You will draw upon your background in administration and project management to raise the bar on our programmatic execution. You will draw upon project management, critical thinking, and analytic problem-solving skills, coupled with good communication and organizational skills.

As a PEM, you will spend time working across all phases of our prime contracts. You will directly support the PMO and Customers as part of the team that manages the programmatic relationship with government customers. You will learn how Amazon executes on our government contracts and grow as a project and program management professional. You will contribute to programmatic activities including schedule management, risk management, initiative tracking, CDRL development, proposal responses, and more. You will own customer-facing initiatives and special projects that programmatic government customers require. You will work across all organizations inside AWS including Security, Infrastructure, Utility Computing, and Sales to achieve programmatic goals and outcomes.

This position is based in Jessup, Maryland. You will join a cadre of program management and technical business development professionals in pursuing new - and overseeing existing - US Government contract requirements, milestones, and deliverables.

Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. Striking a healthy balance between your personal and professional life is crucial to your happiness and success here, which is why we aren’t focused on how many hours you spend at work or online. Instead, we’re happy to offer a flexible schedule so you can have a more productive and well-balanced life—both in and outside of work.

Our team is dedicated to supporting new members. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we’re building an environment that celebrates knowledge sharing and mentorship. We care about your career growth and strive to assign projects based on what will help each team member develop into a better-rounded professional and enable them to take on more complex tasks in the future.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
