JobSummary: As inventory cluster support (ICS), you are responsible for daily book replenishment orders for the stores in your cluster to maximize sales and inventory profitability. You collaborate with store managers (SMs) to capitalize on sales opportunities and communicate with the area manager (AM) on book trends and assortments. An ICS is the voice of books, as you spend most of the time on the sales floor providing an excellent customer experience and talking with booksellers to spot trends, which directly impacts your ability to make appropriate replenishment decisions.
WhatYouDo:
- Review book sales daily to place replenishment orders. - Manage store inventory by identifying sales opportunities and adjusting inventory levels and by making replenishment decisions to improve results and maximize productivity. - Review inventory goals and needs with SMs and inventory cluster support, senior (ICSS) monthly. - Work with SMs on inventory changes with the understanding that the SM is the decision maker on displays in the store. - Communicate with SMs on new trends and events to inform your replenishment decisions. - Develop knowledge of community and strengths in cluster stores to make informed decisions about assortments as appropriate. - Stay current on book landscape including national, regional, and local competition. - Deliver exceptional experience daily on the sales floor, equally balancing talking with customers and understanding local trends when finishing daily ordering duties. - Work on the selling floor, which requires physical activity (i.e., prolonged standing, repetitive bending, lifting, climbing). - Develop deputy as backup and to assist in replenishment. - Travel to cluster stores as requested by AM or ICSS.
Knowledge&Experience:
- Has excellent bookseller experience and broad book knowledge. - Curious and has very developed industry and market knowledge through extensive customer interaction. - Deliver an excellent customer experience through consistent customer service. - Detail oriented and accurate. - Possess analytic skills and demonstrate problem solving skills. - Has a curious mind and is interested in the 'why.' - Work collaboratively with others across all levels. - Manage time and meet deadlines consistently. - Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Office. - Can communicate effectively and comfortably across all levels of the business, both written and verbal. - Can organize, plan, and prioritize workload. - Has clear understanding of store operations and challenges. - Can work autonomously.
